Why is it so hard sometimes for someone to say "NO"?
There are some probable reasons why sometimes we are afraid or having difficulty in saying "no" and why we have this feeling of holding back ourselves from saying it.
1. Culture
Depending on what area we grew up and the way of people communicating. Sometimes they find it easy without hesitation as long as it will convey the true feeling towards the other person but mostly they holding back us since this is the culture of maybe they into since during childhood. Maybe its their family who taught them or the community itself that no is a negative word as not to use it frequently.
2. Emotional Effect
For some reason, it also hurting them inside as they will know the effect of this negative word to them. If the person is too sensitive enough and easily to be upset or other way around as the word pertaining to refusal and rejection.
3. Avoidance
People usually say NO if they don't like or want something (as I have mentioned in item no. 2) its part of refusing of something that they might be involve with. At the same time, its hard for us to say no because we are avoiding such conflicts with others that we think will not be helpful, its like saying Yes for a No against our will.
